Determination of ferulic acid in Xiao-yao-wan by TLC

  • OBJECTIVE To establish a method of thin layer chromatographic scanning to determine the content of ferulic acid in Xiao-yao-wan.METHODS Silica G thin layer was used,and the mobile phase consisted of benzene-chloroform-glacial acetic acid(6:5:1)with the detection wave length of 365nm and the control wave length of 322nm.RESULTS The linear range of ferulic acid was 0.4~2.0μg.The mean recovery was 98.4%(n=5)with RSD of 3.71%.CONCLUSION This menhod is accurate,reliable and can be used for the determination of ferulic acid in Xiao-yao-wan.
